Former adult film star Lana Rhoades said she wants all her old videos to be deleted

Lana Rhoades has opened up about why she 'probably would have deleted' all her old adult film videos by now if she could.

The 27-year-old from Chicago, US, entered into the adult film industry at the age of 19.

Not even a year later, Rhoades - real name Amara Maple - left in pursuit of another career, however, her old adult film videos still remain on the internet for all to see.

In an interview with Too Hot To Handle star and YouTuber Harry Jowsey on his 'Tap In' podcast in June 2021, Rhoades explained that she'd moved to Los Angeles when she was 19 years old.

She was flown there to shoot adult films by an agent and was in the industry for 'eight months on and off' in 'four month increments' she tells Jowsey.

However, she then met a YouTuber and her eyes were opened to the world of influencing - the person she met making '$15,000 dollars to post a picture with a Jeep' on their Instagram.

"And I was like, 'Wow, I get paid $1,200 to do this disgusting sex scene, why the f**k am I doing this?'" Rhoades says.

And that's when she decided to leave the industry, but what does she think of her old videos she's left behind?

In growing her own Instagram and carving out a career as an influencer, unfortunately, that also led to Rhoades becoming 'number one on PornHub' - it became hard for her to fully escape her previous job role.

And the rush in traffic from her Instagram over to Pornhub didn't even financially benefit her either.

Rhoades explains: "So PornHub, a lot of the videos I have no rights under over or otherwise I probably would have deleted them all by now."

After being asked whether she regrets taking part in the videos, Rhoades resolves: "I do, I honestly tell people if I could go back I would give up everything to have my dignity and respect back and for people to not be able to see me in that way."

And it's not the first time Rhoades has negatively spoken out about her experiences of the adult film industry.

In 2022, she slammed the adult film industry as '100 percent fake' and accused those within it as treating actors like 'circus acts'.

She also added that she is 'pretty much asexual' and doesn't 'even like having sex'.

Lana Rhoades has revealed the insane amount of money she received at the peak of adult film career

Lana Rhoades has revealed the 'pickles' she used to get paid per scene in the adult film industry.

The 27-year-old left the world of adult film eight months after she first entered it and has since used her fame and platform to speak out about her experiences.

In an interview with Curious Mike, Rhoades opened up about her the lack of support or guidance she felt she received in the adult film industry, particularly given she joined at the age of 19.

She told the host: "There's not really anything set up to protect girls that are young and vulnerable that don't know how to say no or don't have self-respect for themselves yet or care for themselves or love themselves because they've been through so much and are like taught not to."

Rhoades added she was around loads of older men in their forties who 'know exactly like how to get you to do what [...] they want to make them money'.

In comparison, Rhoades would make 'pickles' - but how much exactly is that?

Rhoades reveals despite being 'the number one porn star' her rate was '$1,200 for a sex scene'.

She explains 'a lot' of the girls would come from small towns and their families 'probably don't have money' which can lead them to believe the amount is a lot at the time.

"I thought $100 at the time was like so much money," she continues. "So getting $1,200 was like a big deal."

However, she then met an influencer who was popular on YouTube and Instagram and she realised she could earn money a completely different way and without performing in sex scenes on camera. The YouTuber was reportedly getting $15,000 to post a photograph on Instagram, a staggering amount compared to Rhoades' sex scene fee.

She resolves: "The guys don't understand what's going on behind the scenes and then also people are like, 'Oh you knew what you got into' and you get backlash for talking out about it.

"I think it's because men like consuming porn and they don't want to feel guilty for consuming it and so they don't want to hear that I felt the way that I felt."

Rhoades has previously hit out at the industry, not just condemning it but saying she believes it should be made illegal.

Since leaving the industry, Rhoades has gone on to become an influencer alongside opening up a clothing and lingerie line.
